Spielerando

Cancel a unit in the build queue and give back exactly the right amount

Players cancel queued soldiers all the time. If the game gives back too much, they find a way to make coins out of nothing; too little and they feel robbed. Here is how to charge, reserve room for the unit, and refund so that the numbers always add up.

Why this works

If the price is taken in full and the room for the unit is reserved the moment it joins the queue, cancelling is just the same step run backwards. One rule for the unspent share, rounded down, then covers every item, and the game never hands back more than it took.

When not to use it

Wrong where cancelling should cost something or return nothing, such as units already in training in a game that wants commitment. Also not fitting when you pay as you build over time; then nothing was charged up front to refund.
