Catch an attack press that comes a moment too early
Players press attack just before the last swing ends and nothing happens, so the game feels unresponsive and heavy. The fix is invisible when it works. This entry shows what to remember, for how long, and what must be forgotten again.
Why this works
People press when they expect to be ready, not when the game is. Remembering one recent press for a moment closes the gap between the player's rhythm and the game's, so the control feels quick without the game guessing what the player wanted.
When not to use it
Do not remember presses in games where the pause is the price, such as slow, heavy weapons where every swing is a commitment. A remembered press there removes the risk. Let a press during the swing count for nothing.
