A huge boss gets stuck in a doorway that the small enemies pass through
The route is fine for a small enemy and then a big one walks into a wall corner and jams. Here is how to plan for the body's real size, what to count as its position, and what happens when no door is wide enough at all.
Why this works
A route that suits a one-cell body says nothing about a bigger one, because a wide body is blocked by every cell it covers. Asking whether the whole body fits at each step turns the same map into the right answer for every size.
When not to use it
Don't bother when all your enemies are about the same size, or when big ones can smash through walls and squeeze through narrow spots. A single route for everyone is simpler. Give a boss a special plan, such as breaking the wall.
