Pressing the rotate key twice quickly spins the view back or turns it the long way
The view turns in animated quarter steps, and a second press while it is still turning is where it goes wrong: it stops, reverses or spins almost a full circle. Here is how to let presses add up, what the game logic should use while the picture is mid-turn, and when to tidy up the numbers.
Why this works
A turn is an intention that has not finished yet. Counting every press without folding the count back keeps the direction the person chose, while the picture catches up on its own; only when it rests may the count be tidied.
When not to use it
Do not queue turns when each one triggers something that must finish first, such as a costly redraw or a story moment. Then ignore presses during a turn, or allow only one waiting press.
