Fix a game that lurches or freezes after the player switches apps and returns

Swipe away to a message and come back, and the game tries to catch up on everything it missed: pieces teleport, a timer runs out, or the screen freezes while it computes. This entry shows how to make the AI keep the game running in fixed steps and set a safe limit on catching up.

Why this works

When the app is away, the clock keeps running but the game does not. Catching up on all of it is rarely what the player wants. So move the game in small equal steps, and set a firm limit on how much lost time may be replayed at once.

When not to use it

Capping the catch-up is wrong for things that really should count the time away, such as a cooking timer, an energy refill or a plant that grows. Store the real time when the player leaves and work out the difference when they return.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Fix a game that lurches or freezes after the player switches apps and returns" (read_entry game-jumps-ahead-after-returning-to-app) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
