Double-tap the jump key to start or stop flying in a creative mode
Sandbox games let builders fly, and the usual switch is two quick taps on jump. Done naively the flight turns on and off by itself, a held key counts as many taps, or three fast taps flip it twice. Here is the small bit of timing that makes the gesture dependable.
Why this works
A double tap is a pattern in time, so count presses and their spacing, not how long a key stays down. Forgetting the first tap once the gesture is used keeps a third tap from triggering again by accident.
When not to use it
Wrong if the game already uses a double press for something else, like a double jump; two meanings for one gesture confuse people. Use a separate button or a menu toggle instead, and for children, a held key is easier.
