Make soldiers climb a ladder or siege tower with hands and feet that hold the rungs
Climbing units that play a looping clip slide up the ladder at the wrong speed and grab the air between rungs, and when a crowd pushes up and down the ladder, the loop makes them walk on the spot. This entry ties every hand and foot to a rung, and works the same up, down, fast, slow or standing still.
Why this works
A climber's hands and feet are tied to the rungs, not to a clock. If the pose depends only on how high the body is, then speeding up, stopping or going down all look right by themselves, and a hand holding a rung never slides.
When not to use it
Too much for a background crowd or a tiny figure on a ladder, and wrong for things that do not use rungs, like a rope, a vine or a wall with scattered holds. Use a simple repeating climb clip for those.
