Pick the next boss attack by distance, without three of the same in a row
A boss picking attacks at random will sometimes throw the same move five times, or use a short-range blow from across the room. This entry gives a way to choose that stays unpredictable but never looks stupid, and still repeats exactly when you feed it the same dice.
Why this works
A good opponent seems to think. First rule out what makes no sense, a blow out of reach or the same trick again and again, then let luck choose among the rest by how much the boss likes each move. That is unpredictable without looking foolish.
When not to use it
Skip it when the boss is meant to be learned like a pattern, where the player memorises a fixed order and beats it with timing. Random choice would ruin that. Use a fixed script, perhaps with one or two variations.
