Hit pause
Stops the game's clock for a split second when a blow lands, which makes hits feel solid. The pause ends cleanly, so the game loses exactly that moment and no more.
When you need it
For melee hits, parries, big landings and finishing blows. A tiny stop is often all it takes to make a weak hit feel strong.
Say this to your AI
Use the hit pause from Spielerando so my sword hits freeze the game for a moment, longer for strong hits, without stuttering on fast combos.Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
Settings
- minPause (0.03): Seconds of pause for the weakest hit.
- maxPause (0.15): Seconds of pause for the strongest hit.
- timeScale (0): How fast time runs during the pause. 0 is a full stop, 0.1 is heavy slow motion.
- recovery (0.05): Seconds to get back to full speed afterwards. It feels softer than a hard cut.

Common questions
how do i make hits feel powerful
Freeze the game for a tiny moment at the instant of impact. Your eye catches the pose, and the blow reads as heavier, often more than from any extra effect.
why does my hit stop feel like a lag
It is probably too long, or several hits add up. Keep it under a sixth of a second, and when a new hit lands during a pause, take the longer time instead of adding them.
how long should hit stop be
Around 0.03 seconds for light hits, up to about 0.15 for the heaviest. Longer than that starts to read as a stutter.
