Arm and leg reach
You say where the hand or foot should go, and it works out where the elbow or knee goes. Feet stay on stairs, hands reach for ledges, and a robot arm follows the mouse.
When you need it
For walking on uneven ground, climbing, grabbing things, spider legs, cranes and robot arms, and anything where the end of a limb should land on an exact spot.
Say this to your AI
Use the arm and leg reach from Spielerando so my spider's feet stay on the ground and its knees bend the right way as it walks.Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
Settings
- bend (1): Which side the elbow or knee bends to, 1 or -1. Pick the one that looks right and keep it.
- softness (0): How far before full stretch the limb starts to ease out, which removes the pop. Try a tenth of the limb's length.
Your AI gets the code
The finished code and math come through the Spielerando connection, so your AI can use them right away. Connect your AI
Common questions
how do i make feet stay on the ground on stairs
Pick the spot where each foot should land, then let the recipe work out the knee from the hip and the two bone lengths. The foot goes exactly there and the leg keeps its length.
how do i make an arm reach for something
Give the shoulder, the point to reach and the length of both arm parts. You get the elbow, and the two angles for turning your arm sprites.
why does my leg pop when it straightens
Near full stretch, the knee moves very fast for a tiny change in the foot. A small softness setting eases this last part, and the pop goes away.
