Spielerando

Spread story facts over the levels without a wall of exposition

The designer needs the player to know twelve things about the conspiracy by the end, and the draft tells five of them in one briefing before the last level. Here is how your AI plans which fact goes into which level, keeps each level light, and shows the facts that would arrive too late.

Why this works

People remember a few things at a time and only if they can use them soon. Placing the most urgent fact first, and only after the ones it rests on, spreads the load and shows which facts cannot fit at all, long before the player is lost in a briefing.

When not to use it

Skip it when the story is meant to arrive in a rush, such as a mystery that ends in one long explanation, or when players can look things up in a journal at any time. Then pacing matters less than making each fact easy to find.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Spread story facts over the levels without a wall of exposition" (read_entry story-facts-per-level-without-info-dump) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
