Roll a score number up smoothly and make sure it ends on the true value
Counting numbers feel rewarding, but they crawl for huge gains, stall just short of the final digit, or restart awkwardly when more points arrive mid-count. Here is a counter that always finishes, handles new gains and stays readable.
Why this works
The eye likes a number that races when the gap is big and slows when it is near, but a pure slowdown never quite lands. Adding a floor under the speed guarantees the finish, and always showing the rounded value means nobody sees a half number.
When not to use it
Don't use it when the number must be exact at every moment, such as a bank balance, a timer players read to the tenth, or a counter that decides something. Show the true value at once, and put the animation next to it.
