The jump is higher on a fast computer than on a slow one

A friend with a different screen reports that the character jumps differently, and a gap that is easy for you is impossible for them. The cause is hidden in how time is cut into pieces. Here is the reliable way to make jumps identical everywhere.

Why this works

A game must run the same on every machine, so the rules of the world should tick at their own steady pace and not follow how fast a screen draws. Then the same input gives the same result for everyone, which also makes the game testable.

When not to use it

Skip it for a very small game that runs only on one fixed device, or one that is turn-based and has no continuous motion. The extra loop is then more work than it saves; just step the world once per turn or per frame.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "The jump is higher on a fast computer than on a slow one" (read_entry same-jump-height-at-any-frame-rate) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
