Spielerando

After one bad update the game crashes at launch and players cannot recover

If something in the saved data makes the game crash while loading, every new start crashes the same way, and the only cure is deleting the app, and with it the progress. A small start-up counter lets the game notice the loop and take gentler steps before giving up.

Why this works

A game that crashes cannot repair itself, so something outside the crash must remember it. Writing a mark before the risky step and wiping it only once the game is really up means a missing wipe proves the last start failed, and gentler starts can then be tried.

When not to use it

Skip it when the crash comes from the device, not the saved data, such as a broken update or too little memory: a softer start cannot cure that. Then fix the cause and publish a corrected version, and show a clear message meanwhile.
